Leanna Chaffee joined the WRHS band family (again) in 2015 as the Colorguard Director.  She was previously the Colorguard Director from 2007 – 2010 and continued as choreography from 2011-2014.  Leanna started her love for marching band in high school and this passion grew as she was a member of the Kansas State University marching band.  She played the saxophone serving as the section leader for 2 years. 

Leanna began her Colorguard career in 2000 at Highland Park High School where she was the Colorguard Director there until 2005.  Although Leanna didn’t “grow up” doing Colorguard, she now considers it the absolute best section in marching band.  Leanna states her favorite thing about serving as Colorguard Director is getting to spend so much time with some amazing high school kids.  That and the flashy visuals and fun dancing.
