• If you take your uniform home to alter the length of the pants or sleeves, remember that NO MATERIAL MAY BE CUT OFF. To shorten, just turn the hem up and sew by hand—not with a sewing machine.
  • The pants hem should come to the top of your band shoes—the back of the pants hem does not drag the ground.  The hem is to be above the heels of the shoes.
  • The jacket sleeves are to be at wrist length.
  • Band wear is worn under the uniform at all times --blue nylon shorts, band shirt, black socks and black shoes.
  • You will also need to have Black gloves, when in Marching attire.  (Caps will be worn, when announced or when only band wear is worn at an event).
  • If feasible, it is a good idea to have two pairs black socks and two pairs of black gloves, they are frequently misplaced.

    2. Jacket
    3. Overlay & Cape

The uniform is put on in the following order.

  • The Jacket requires two large buttons to fasten closed.
  • Hats are assigned by head size, anyone with hair touching their collar will need to pin up their hair before being fitted for a hat.
  • Band shoes are worn with BLACK SOCKS – and shoes MUST BE CLEAN FOR EACH PERFORMANCE.  Judges count off for dirty shoes, so be sure yours are clean.
  • Uniforms are required to be hung-up properly in numerical order, each time you wear them.  You will be shown how to hang the uniform-and it will have to done right or you will have to re-hang it. Properly hanging the uniform helps keep all the pieces together and keeps the uniforms in good condition.
  • Replacement value for a uniform is $400.00, when traveling; make sure you keep track of your uniform.

*Make sure EVERY part of your BAND WEAR has your first and last NAME on it.
